CAMBA's Family Literacy Program Even Start at P.S. 139 started in 1994 to break the cycle of low literacy and poverty in families, including raising the literacy standard of youth. The classes provide Adult Literacy/ESL, Parenting Education, Early Childhood Education, Interactive Learning Experience Activities and Home-Visiting Services to about 50 parents/guardians and their children from Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. Families must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.
