Starting in 2005, CAMBA’s Supportive Counseling & Family Stabilization Program (SCFS) provides individual and family supportive counseling to families and single individuals in need of this important service. One family member must be HIV-positive. The ultimate goals for the program are to stabilize the family unit through counseling and support services and to ensure that the HIV-positive individual is connected to and maintains their primary healthcare. The SCFS program sponsors weekly support groups for the following populations: HIV-positive women, LGBQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Questioning Allies), parents, youth, Spanish-speakers and families. Low-threshold case management services assist clients with treatment adherence and coordination of care with other providers. The program currently serves 50 individuals and families.
