Homeless Shelters and Transitional Housing

To meet the immediate needs of homeless individuals who are struggling with mental illness and substance abuse, CAMBA operates a homeless drop-in center and five emergency shelters for single adults. Our shelters offer a variety of therapeutic and supportive services, including case management; mental health and substance abuse counseling services; nutritious meals; on-site and referrals for treatment of mental health and addiction issues; medication adherence, acupuncture and other therapeutic services; on-site recreational activities; job training and placement; assistance with entitlements including Public Assistance and Medicaid benefits; and health and life skills workshops on topics such as money management and critical thinking that enable residents to rejoin the community and establish permanency.

CAMBA also operates several programs that provide transitional housing for homeless families, including the Clermont and Lex Brooklyn Residences, Flagstone Family Center and the Neighborhood Cluster Program.  Services focus on rapid re-entry into the community to minimize the impact of homelessness on the children while meeting their immediate needs.  In addition, we also operate transitional housing programs specifically targeted to homeless clients who are living with HIV/AIDS.
