CAMBA’s Permanent & Transitional Housing Program (PTHP) started in 2002 and is available to clients who are living with HIV/AIDS, are HASA (HIV/AIDS Services Administration) eligible and have a history of mental illness or substance abuse. The program leases 12 studio and/or one-bedroom apartments in the community. Clients then sublet the apartments from the program. There is also a 24-hour congregate residence, which houses 10 clients in need of transitional housing. Additionally, the program provides 19 permanent community apartments for non-HASA eligible individuals and their family members. Clients in the independent apartments receive assistance with their utility bills. The program currently serves approximately 50 clients per year.
