HomeBase Program has changed its focus from targeting clients who are most at risk of entering a shelter to serving clients who have actually applied to a shelter. HomeBase is currently working with the following types of clients:
First Priority-Diversion client - a client who has applied to the center for Prevention Assistance and Temporary Housing (PATH), which is located in the Bronx. These clients are referred by HomeBase Diversion Shelter staff only.
Second Priority-Aftercare client – a client who has exited the shelter system and is housed and living with some type of shelter subsidy which is at risk of being lost
Third Priority - Community prevention – a client who is a primary tenant (lease holder) or doubled-up (not a lease holder), experiencing a housing crisis, working, or willing to work and is at a high risk of entering the shelter system
