NDA 9 Access to Careers is an internship readiness program for 24 9th graders. The students receive academic support, organization skill building and time management skills, as well as internship/job readiness training.
The program runs Mondays 1:40-3:40 and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:40 to 4:40 pm (with an additional hour for staff development).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The person filling this position will be responsible for creating interactive lesson plans geared around career readiness. Additionally the person filling this position is expected to provide small group academic assistance to children and/or youth.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree (as required by funder).
Must obtain Dept. of Health, Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance.
Ability and willingness to participate in field trips, dealing with outdoor weather conditions during working hours.
Ability to adapt to the culture and environment of a public school.
Experience working with students in urban school and/or community settings.
