Accountant I, Fiscal Department - Grants and Contracts Management Unit

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • The Accountant I is responsible for financial reporting and analyses for a portfolio of social services contracts funded by a mix of NYC, NYS, Federal, and private agencies.    This work involves approving purchase orders, check requests and expenses, reconciliations, variance tracking, and reporting to internal management and funders on a monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis. 
  • There are currently two positions are available, and the successful candidates will have a BA/BS in Accounting or other business discipline.   Similar experience in grants and contract management for a not for profit social services agency is preferred, but not required.  Excellent communication skills are a true advantage.
