​Student Intern for HIV Prevention Program

Queer Studies/Public Health students encouraged to apply

 

CAMBA is currently seeking a volunteer/intern for an exciting new HIV prevention program for young gay and bisexual men and transgender women of color

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conducting both traditional and virtual outreach to young men who have sex with men (YMSM) and transgender women of color.
  2. Mapping community to identify places YMSM and transgender women of color frequent.
  3. Developing social media presence to promote the program.
  4. Providing individual and group education about biomedical interventions, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), and treatment as prevention.
  5. Helping to facilitate health education groups.
  6. Attendance at relevant trainings and meetings

Requirements:

  1. Knowledge of issues affecting YMSM and transgender women  of color in Brooklyn
  2. Ability to work in a diverse community setting
  3. Commitment of 6-8 hours per week

Students seeking internship will be supervised by MPH program staff.
