Internal Property Accountant, Fiscal Department

Non-Profit developer seeks in house Property Accountant to review several supportive housing developments monthly activity on a continual basis. This highly motivated self-starter working under general supervision would:

  • Provide a thorough review of monthly building financials as well as quarterly reporting to funders/lenders on an ongoing basis.
  • Work on providing information for annual audits conducted by external CPA firms, and assisting with formulation of annual site budgets.
  • Monitoring, recording of transactions and reporting on emerging projects in development and construction phases as needed.
  • Report to management on outstanding issues related to building operations and fiscal management, interacting with Property Managers and their fiscal teams on a regular basis.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance plus 2 years applicable experience and/or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of tax credit affordable housing financing is a plus.
  • Must be a problem solver/issues resolver who can understand and convey critical information and distinguish between important matters and ordinary timing related concerns.
  • Strong consideration will be given to applicants who have worked or currently work for property managing agents, preferably in the affordable housing field.
  • Excellent fiscal, organizational, interpersonal and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Some field work and local travel required.
