Assistant Program Manager, Learning to Work for Transfer Schools at Brownsville Academy

​The CAMBA Brownsville Academy Director is the individual in charge and on site that ensures the effective and high quality functioning of all operational aspects of all of CAMBA's programs at Brownsville Academy.  This person is CAMBA's leader who collaborates with key school personnel and supervises all CAMBA staff with the overarching goal of increasing students grades and attendance and increasing graduation numbers.

​Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain partnerships within the community and bring these resources into the school community;
  • Collaborate with school administrators on decisions made throughout the school day;
  • Coordinate and follow up with staff on student outreach and attendance, as well as student participation in consultant services brought in to the school;
  • Plan and organize program activities to maximize program contract's goals and performance targets;
  • Interact with and support the needs of the school community through designing event for parents through Family Nights, referrals and telephone calls;
  • Collaborate with school administrators and key school staff to share information to address the academic and social/emotional needs of participants;
  • Manage multiple budgets;
  • Motivate, coach and counsel staff to excel;
  • Monitor students' progress regularly; and
  • Any and all other tasks necessary for the successful operation of the program. 

    Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or applicable experience, Masters degree preferred;
  • Two years supervisory experience required;
  • Experience working with high school students in a school-based setting; alternative school experience preferred;
  • Familiarity with diverse ethnic and cultural communities;
  • Outstanding organizational, critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills;
  • Sensitivity to parent concerns and youth development issues;
  • Enthusiasm; creativity, initiative and the ability to adapt quickly to change; and
  • The proven ability to serve as a dynamic team leader ​
