Analyst I, Eviction Prevention Unit

​​Located on‑site in an HRA Job Center in Brooklyn, CAMBA's Eviction Prevention Unit (EPU) is targeted to 1,500 clients yearly at risk of becoming homeless, whose problems cannot be solved by the general Center staff.  CAMBA's EPU staff members help clients stabilize their housing and financial situations by providing welfare advocacy, assistance applying for housing benefits and other rental arrears assistance, as well as referrals to legal services that will help them resolve problems with government benefits and housing.  The program also makes referrals to other needed benefits and services to enhance housing stability, foster self-sufficiency and improve family functioning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  The person filling this position is expected, under close supervision, to: (1) prepare reports, analyze and trouble-shoot data  for management and funder use; (2) provide on-site user support and; (3) develop supervisory tools to streamline and improve the database structure; including the following:  

  • Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.
  • Conduct data management activities, including data cleaning and quality assurance checks.
  • Work with EPU supervisors and staff to correct inaccuracies in the data.
  • Run reports and verify their accuracy; troubleshoot with the Database Administrator assigned to EPU.
  • Coordinate and conduct staff training on data systems and new data procedures.
  • Maintain a database of all reporting requirements, deadlines, and program benchmarks.
  • Perform data analyses for routine reports and presentations related to EPU.
  • Create data visualizations. ​


Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and at least 1 year of experience in data management.


  • Experience in a non-profit/social service setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence and integrity working with data reporting and verification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working with data collection applications and software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
  • Experience in quality assurance and data management of large datasets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with exceptional people skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in fast paced environment to meet critical deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals.
  • Takes initiative, is self-motivated, resourceful, detail oriented, dependable and has a strong attention to detail.​
