Program Summary:  CAMBA’s Victims Assistance Program (VAP) serves victims/survivors of domestic violence, rape/ sexual assault, and other violent crimes. Services include:

  • 24 hour Rape/Sexual Assault Crisis Hotline 
  • Assistance in filing Crime Victims compensation claims with the NYS Office of Victim Services 
  • Crisis counseling 
  • Emergency food/transit assistance 
  • Housing assistance 
  • Individual and group support and education 
  • Information and referral services 
  • Police and court advocacy

VAP currently serves 130 new clients annually and provides services to an average of 250 callers per year. With support from the NYC Council, CAMBA also provides psycho-educational workshops and groups on the dynamics of domestic violence to an additional 35 participants annually.

Additionally, CAMBA provides counselors on-site at the Brooklyn Family Justice Center, where essential advocacy, case management, and criminal and civil legal assistance are all provided under one roof to 80 victims/survivors of domestic violence annually. ​
