Program Summary: Broadway House Women’s Shelter in Bushwick, Brooklyn, is a 165-bed shelter that provides temporary emergency housing in a safe and supportive environment. Programs are designed to enable women to improve their ability to secure longterm permanent housing and become self-sufficient and to help them move to permanent housing. Meals, 24/7 security and on-site comprehensive services including case management, housing assistance, creative art therapy, medical and psychiatric services are provided.
The shelter also offers enhanced job readiness and employment screening in shelter with creative tools to help residents connect directly with jobs for which they qualify, intensive job readiness workshops, and instruction and support in using online resources that connect entry-level job-seekers who are current or former shelter stayers to their likeliest employers.
This program is funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services.
