CAMBA Junior Board

Who We Are

CAMBA Junior Board is a group of talented, ambitious and young professionals representing a cross-section of New York City’s industries whose unique talents and networks support CAMBA’s work. Most members are Brooklyn residents striving to improve their communities and increase economic opportunities for every New Yorker.

Why We Joined the CAMBA Junior Board

  • Make a Difference: CAMBA is one of the most impactful human service providers in New York City, ensuring 45,000 low-income individuals and families have safe homes, sufficient food, and educational opportunities. Proceeds from Junior Board events enable CAMBA to give holiday gifts to homeless families, take children on field trips and offer health and wellness classes to people living with HIV/AIDS.
  • Connect: The chances of expanding personal and professional networks increases as a member of CAMBA Junior Board. It's an opportunity to connect with diverse people from different fields who share a common interest in making New York City a safe and vibrant place.
  • Grow Professionally: The Junior Board is a great first step to joining a non-profit board to learn the ins and outs of a non-profit with an excellent track record. Members develop new skills that are different from their day jobs, such as event production, program design or fundraising.
  • Have Fun! CAMBA knows how to party. The events are rewarding and fun.

Member Responsibilities

  • Bi-monthly Meetings. Members meet every other month to plan events and activities. A convenient time and location are chosen by everyone, and everyone attends each meeting in person or by phone.
  • Take the Lead. Each event or activity has one leader to take charge and coordinate with other Junior Board members.
  • Bring Friends. Members are asked to invite their personal and professional network to events and help recruit volunteers with special skills.
  • Be Creative. Each person has a unique skill set to contribute. Share how your skills and experiences will help CAMBA’s programs by contacting us to learn more. The possibilities are endless!

Started in 1977, CAMBA is a non-profit agency that connects people with opportunities to enhance their quality of life.
