Summertime… but the livin’ isn’t easy — at least not for urban teens looking for meaningful work experience.

For low-income Brooklyn teens, the consequences of a jobless summer can be long-lasting. Studies show that early work experiences translate to better careers and higher future earnings. Teens with limited experience go straight to the back of the job-hunting line, consigned to repeat the frustrating cycle of being unable to gain the experience they need to get ahead.

It takes works experience to build a career…
and that’s where you come in.

By supporting CAMBA’s Earn and Learn Fund, you can help a low-income teenager get that all-important paid summer internship—and put them on a life-long trajectory of success.

CAMBA’s Earn and Learn Fund will support meaningful, paid summer internships for 25 committed, enthusiastic young people. For these youth, a summer internship will be transformative: introducing them to the demands of work, inspiring them to aim for college and careers and giving them the opportunity to form new connections and networks outside of their communities.

CAMBA is seeking $30,000 to fund paid summer internships for 25 teenagers. Your gift will ensure that young people earn as they learn about the world of work.

How you can help:

  • $200 Funds an intern for one week

  • $600 Funds an intern for 3 weeks

  • $1,200 Funds an intern for 6 weeks

Share your career passion with a high school student! CAMBA is seeking companies to provide paid summer internships for qualified high school students.

These internships would:

  • Last at least 6 weeks, 10 – 15 hours per week

  • Pay minimum wage ($8.00 per hour)

  • Offer a constructive learning experience

CAMBA will work closely with interested businesses to prepare students for their internships and support them while they are on the job.

Help put the summer of 2014 to work for a Brooklyn teen in need.
Your gift is tax deductible.
